Friday 29th April called a massive 750 million people worldwide to their television screens to watch the ceremony of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
There had been rumours for months about who the designer was to be of Kate's dress and it was made clear on the morning of the wedding when the beautiful bride stepped out of the vintage Rolls Royce in an Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton.
Maid of Honour Phillipa Middleton demonstrated elegance wearing a dress , also designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen in heavy ivory with a satin-based crepe, a cowl front and with the same button detail and lace trim as the bridal gown. The Bridesmaids dresses were created by childrenswear designer Nicky Macfarlane and her daughter Charlotte Macfarne.
I think it is safe to say that Price William 'done his bride proud' turning up in his costume of arms. He looked smart and ideal for the occasion and the pair looked like a couple made in heaven.
With 1900 guests attending the wedding there was a large chance that some of them would have dressed 'differently' to the majority of attendees.
David Beckham accompanied his wife in a Ralph Lauren Purple Label tailor-made suit with black crocodile braces and a matching top hat, wearing his OBE medal, which was supposedly on the wrong side of his jacket.
Following the Beckham's were many other very well dressed guests at the wedding but there were also a few 'fashion police' emergencies in the form of Princesses Beatrice and Eugienie and Tara Palmer Tompkinson. The slideshow below shows the best of both.
We also asked a local resident from Canterbury about what they thought the wedding outfits were like:
